Do you know how to do Profhilo aftercare? If not, you are at the right place to learn about it.

Profhilo is an amazing injectable treatment that helps your skin glow without appearing done. While you wait for your skin rejuvenation results after Profhilo sessions, know that aftercare matters a lot.

If you follow the proper aftercare, your skin will heal quickly, glow like never before, while preventing any side effects or future complications. Read this blog till the end to know all the do’s and don’ts.

Understanding the Importance of Taking Care after Profhilo

So, you’ve just had your Profhilo treatment. What’s next?

While the injections work in the background, what you do afterwards significantly affects how well your skin absorbs all that hydrating goodness—hyaluronic acid.

Think of it like planting a seed; you wouldn’t just leave it and hope for the best, right? You’d water it and give it the right environment to thrive. Profhilo works the same way. The smoother the recovery, the better the results. With a little patience and a few mindful choices, you will have that glowing and rejuvenated skin.

Here is an easy do’s and don’ts list that will help you take care after your Profhilo injections.

Do’s of Profhilo Aftercare

  • Use a Cold Compress

A cool compress will ease your skin if you have mild swelling or discomfort. But never place ice on the treated skin—place it in a clean cloth and apply it gently in short sessions.

  • Use Arnica for Bruising

If you spot light bruising, Arnica cream can speed healing. It’s a natural remedy that lessens inflammation and reduces discolouration. But, it’s better to consult with your doctor before applying.

  • Cleanse your Skin Gently

You may wash your face with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser, post 6 hours of your treatment. Don’t rub or scrub; pat dry with a soft towel to avoid irritation.

  • Wear SPF Daily

After 24 hours, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen (at least SPF 30). UV exposure can cause harm to the skin and weaken collagen, shortening the duration of your Profhilo results.

  • Sleep on your Back

Sleep on your back with your head slightly raised, for the first two or three nights. This will not put pressure on the injection sites and keeps the swelling away. Support your head with an extra pillow if necessary.

  • Stay Hydrated

Profhilo works by attracting moisture to the skin. Therefore, drinking water both before and after treatment ensures that levels of hydration level increase. Drink at least 2 litres daily to ensure your skin is nice and healthy. It will help you maintain the results if you wonder how long does Profhilo last.

  • Munch on Healthy Food

Nourish your skin from the inside out by eating a diet high in vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. Foods that have a lot of Vitamin C and E, like citrus fruits, nuts, and green leafy vegetables, help repair the skin and build collagen.

  • Follow Your Doctor’s Instructions

Each skin type is unique, so stick to your practitioner’s individual aftercare plan for optimal results. If you continue to experience swelling or unexpected side effects, don’t delay seeking professional advice.

Now that you know the do’s, let’s discover what should not be done.

Don’ts of Profhilo Aftercare

  • Don’t Touch the Injection Points

For the first 6 hours, avoid touching your face. This keeps the bacteria away from the treatment area, preventing any irritation or infection. The skin is particularly sensitive during this period.

  • Refrain from Massaging or Rubbing

Tiny bumps may form at the injected areas ion sites but naturally disappear within 24 hours. Avoid pressing or massaging the area since this will interfere with how the product spreads beneath the skin.

  • No Retinoids or Harsh Skincare

Steer clear of retinol, AHAs, BHAs, or harsh exfoliants in products for 3 days post and pre-treatment. They will leave your skin even more sensitive and more prone to irritation.

  • Don’t Use Makeup

Your skin needs healing time, so avoid wearing makeup for at least 12 hours. Makeup may help bacteria get into the injection sites. It will increase the risk of redness or breakouts—it’s good to avoid it for some time.

  • Don’t Expose your Skin to Heat

Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and sun exposure for 24 hours at least. Heat will enhance swelling and disrupt the absorption of Profhilo in the skin.

  • Refrain from Heavy Workouts

Heavy exercise raises blood flow and body temperature, which leads to increased swelling or bruising. So, it’s better to steer clear of intense exercise, yoga, or anything that causes you to sweat for at least 24 hours.

  • Say No to Alcohol, Smoking, & Caffeine

Alcohol, smoking, and caffeine have the potential to dehydrate the skin and cause bruising. To enable your skin to heal effectively, steer clear of these for a minimum of 24 hours following your treatment.

  • Don’t Wear Tight Accessories

Avoid wearing anything that applies pressure to the treated area for at least 5 days, including helmets, masks, or goggles. Pressure on the skin will interfere with the even distribution of Profhilo.

  • Avoid Facial Treatments Right After

Don’t get microneedling, laser treatments, chemical peels, or deep facials for at least 2-3 weeks. Your skin should have enough time to absorb the Profhilo thoroughly and heal without further stress.

  • Don’t Fly Right After the Session

If you have future travel plans, wait at least 48 hours after flying. Pressure changes in the air can make swelling worse and be uncomfortable, so it’s best to allow your skin to settle.

Take Care After Profhilo & Wait for the Results

Profhilo takes time. There are no immediate results. The complete results come slowly, after 3-4 weeks, when there is increased production of collagen. Don’t panic if you do not notice differences right away—just trust the process!

Taking care after Profhilo will save you from prolonged swelling and bruising—your skin will heal quickly and at its best.
