The Concern:
Microneedling is most often used on your face to target the below concerns.

  • acne scars
  • age spots (also called “sun-spots”)
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • large pores
  • reduced skin elasticity
  • uneven skin tone

Micro-needling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive, non-surgical, and non-ablative procedure for skin rejuvenation
Microneedling is a non-invasive but extremely effective rejuvenation treatment that harnesses your skin’s natural ability to repair itself

The Solution:

Microneedling is an advanced natural skin renewal therapy that is affordable and safe, giving you that healthy appearance to your skin. Using this technique, it creates thousands of little punctures of microneedles into your skin, causing your skin to regenerate itself, due to the derma roller causing mild trauma to the skin.
As a result, more collagen is produced, helping to reduce and smooth out wrinkles, reducing acne scars and large pores, and improving wellbeing to the texture of the skin especially aged and sun-damaged skin.

The Method:

During the procedure, your clinician makes small pricks under the skin with a pen-like tool. The pinpricks are so small that you likely won’t notice them after the procedure. Your doctor will move the tool evenly across your skin so that the new skin that rejuvenates will be even, too.
Before getting started, your clinician may use a topical anaesthetic to reduce the chances of pain. This is done about an hour before your treatment.
After your treatment, a calming lotion may also be applied to reduce redness.
In total, the process takes around 30 minutes and is a low pain procedure.
Before your micro-needling treatment, you should avoid the use of self-tanning products for up to 48 hours and avoid sun exposure and the use of skin products that contain vitamin A or retinol for 24 hours.

The Results:

After micro-needling, your skin works quickly to rejuvenate new tissue. In theory, you should see results within a couple of weeks.
You may notice skin irritation and redness within the first few days following the procedure. This is a natural response to the small “injuries” made by the needles in your skin.
To maintain the results of your treatment, you’ll need multiple sessions and perhaps other complementing treatments. Your doctor will advise you on the best plan of action based on your individual goals.

Aftercare:

There is very little downtime after this procedure allowing you to go back to work or school after the procedure if you’re comfortable. Some people apply a full coverage concealer during the first few days as the redness dissipates as it can be quite alarming at first glance – but will only last a few days at the most.
Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is a must
